Homeownership Assistance Fund Directory

The Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) is a $9.961 billion federal program to help households who are behind on their mortgages and other housing-related expenses due to the impacts of COVID-19. HAF provides funding to states, tribes, territories, and the District of Columbia to assist these homeowners. This directory presents key components of individual state HAF programs. Featured HAF Program: Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund Program

The Illinois Homeowner Assistance Fund Program (ILHAF) provides direct financial assistance to prevent mortgage delinquencies, defaults, displacements, and foreclosures for income-eligible homeowners experiencing pandemic-related hardships in Illinois. The state is now accepting applications from homeowners for grants of up to $30,000 to eliminate or reduce past-due mortgage and property tax payments.

Homeowner Assistance Fund: Interim Reports Webinar

State and Territory Participants that received Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) awards are required to submit a one-time Interim Report. GAO Report on Monitoring in the Emergency Rental Assistance Program

This report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office examines U.S. Department of the Treasury’s policies related to Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) program flexibilities intended to enable grantees to spend funds more quickly and the nexus between such policies and fraud prevention policies procedures. GAO highlights the need for Treasury to balance speed in spending with accountability and oversight.

HOME Coalition Letter Supporting Maximum HOME Funding in Final FY22 Appropriations Bill

THOME Coalition sent a letter to leaders of the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) urging them to devote the maximum amount possible for the HOME program in a final FY 2022 appropriations bill. The letter supports the $1.85 billion for the HOME program that was included in the THUD appropriations bill passed by the House of Representatives in July 2021.
